● Defining
LOW FREQUENCY
CULTURE
In the early 2000s, bass music culture was already established, with strong roots in sound system tradition and global communities. However, its visual expression often lacked the same level of precision and intention found in the music itself.

For a culture defined by technical depth, physical impact, and disciplined experimentation, there was an opportunity to develop a more cohesive and considered design language.
Dataset was created to explore how this world could be translated visually. The challenge was to build a system that reflected the structure and energy of low frequency environments while remaining authentic to a niche, highly informed audience.

It also served as a platform for experimentation, enabling the development of a distinct voice within the music industry.
● SONIC
REFERENCE
Low Frequency Resistance System Selections, captures Dataset’s foundation.

Featuring sub-sonic, bass-driven tracks from dub, UK garage, and drum and bass, it mirrors the physical energy and system forward precision that define the brand, translating Dataset’s design ethos into an audible experience, complementing its visual and functional identity.

● A SYSTEM
BUILT FROM
SOUND
Drawing from technical references such as acoustic research, signal flow, and system infrastructure, Dataset established a consistent visual language rooted in precision and function. This approach allowed the brand to mirror the physical and engineered nature of low frequency environments, translating them into wearable formats.
Through ongoing collaboration with artists and communities, Dataset positioned itself within the culture it represents.

The project became both a platform and a body of work, contributing to global collaborations and opening pathways into creative direction roles.
